Just months after bringing her critically acclaimed one-woman comedy “Dancing with my Demons” to Los Angeles, Variety Magazine chose Ruthy as one of their Ten Comics to Watch. She has gone one to perform her solo shows in numerous theatres, festivals and comedy clubs in New York, Los Angeles and even a kickboxing ring on Koh Phi Phi island in Thailand.
The native New Yorker writes stories about religion, mental illness, ethnic shame, sexuality, and the absurd challenges that come with being human, and growing up first generation Puerto Rican-American in the Bronx with a family that generously supplies a pipeline of material.
Having written, produced and performed four one-person shows, Ruthy teaches actors, writers and executives how to tell their own stories on stage and YouTube. Her mission is to make fear and doubt laughable so that dreams become possible.
She also decided to marry her passion for international travel and cooking by creating “Cookin' Up Adventures” a cooking show she hosts & produces where viewers are invited to join her travel and cooking adventures one home kitchen at a time - most recently in Japan and Russia.
The LA based performer has worked opposite Vin Diesel and performed in national commercials, voice-overs, TV, film, comedy clubs and colleges.
